The IFCE Postgraduate Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching (PGECM) offers academic master's degree courses in the in-person modality and corresponds to the Capes Teaching area (area 46), with a concentration area in Science and Mathematics Teaching. The main activities of the program take place on the Fortaleza campus, located at Avenida Treze de Maio, 2081, Benfica. It also has the structure and professors of several IFCE campuses and other Higher Education institutions. The Master's degree in Science and Mathematics Teaching began in 2015, with the existence of three lines of research, namely: Chemistry and Biology Teaching, Physics Teaching and Mathematics Teaching. As of 2021, the program will present another line of research: Science and Mathematics Teaching in the early years of Elementary School. The program's proposal is to train teacher-researchers, developing scientific depth and the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge. The target audience is primarily graduates of full undergraduate courses in physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and pedagogy, seeking to meet a multidisciplinary vision of professionals and seeking to train teachers prepared for new teaching technologies, appropriation of methodologies and knowledge relevant to their professional performance.
