Registration of projects with the Research Ethics Committee (CEP)

To register research projects with the IFCE Research Ethics Committee (CEP), the rules presented here must be followed.

Dissertation preparation models

The preparation of the dissertation must follow the criteria, standards and model presented on the IFCE website.

Requirements for titling

  • The student must complete a total of 32 credits, which are: at least 26 mandatory and optional credits (concerning the disciplines), 4 credits concerning the dissertation I discipline and 2 credits concerning the dissertation II discipline;
  • Passing the Foreign Language proficiency exam; 
  • Present at least two academic productions, namely: one article submitted and/or accepted for publication, one article published in the teaching area (above B3, above B2 for scholarship students);
  • Passing the Qualification exam and the dissertation defense;

Dissertation submission

The student holding the Dissertation must open a request in SEI IFCE, in the external member profile.

And you must attach separately to the process:

  1. Dissertation (Catalog Card Generator)
  2. Dissertation Defense Minutes;
  3. Library Clearance Receipt (issued by the Library in person or online in the user profile (click here)
  4. Authorization Term to Make Final Work Available in the IFCE Institutional Repository (click here);
  5. Advisor's declaration of consent.

Closes (Library)

Issuance and attachment of the Dissertation Validation Declaration to the respective SEI Process.

Diploma application

OBS.: only at this stage is it possible to request a certificate of course completion.

Starts (Protocol/SEI IFCE)

The student holding the right to a Diploma must open a request in SEI IFCE, in the external member profile.

And must attach to the process:

  1. Identity Document or National Foreigner's Card/RNE (for foreigners);
  2. Birth or marriage certificate (ONLY if there is a discrepancy in accentuation and/or cedilla between your ID and the name on the Certificate);
  3. Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF);
  4. Proof of military service discharge (men between 19 and 45 years old);
  5. Voter ID;
  6. Proof of electoral discharge
  7. Declaration of validation of dissertation submission issued by the IFCE Library - CampusFortaleza;
  8. Certificate or Proof of Proficiency Exam in a foreign language, in accordance with the regulations of the Postgraduate program.

Closes (Secretariat)

Delivery of the Diploma to the applicant at the Postgraduate Office and attachment of the signed Delivery Receipt to the respective SEI Process.

Guidelines for scheduling the qualifying exam

  • Submission of the completed form “Qualification Exam Application” and the “Qualification Board Registration Form” (model forms available);
  • In the document “Qualification Board Registration Form”, pay attention to filling out the form for registering a teacher external to the PGECM, if he or she is not registered in the program;
  • A copy of the work (the qualification work, in PDF format);
  • Forward the aforementioned documents to the emails (dippg.secretaria@ifce.edu.br and pgecm@ifce.edu.br) indicating the request for a qualifying exam.

Guidelines for virtual defense

  • Submission of the completed form “SUBMISSION OF DISSERTATION FOR DEFENSE” and the “DISSERTATION BOARD REGISTRATION FORM” (model forms available);
  • Document proving proficiency in a foreign language to request a defense;
  • Document proving publication of an article in a journal with Qualis in Education plus proof of another article submitted to a journal with Qualis (as set out in the Program's Bylaws);
  • The dissertation defense must take place through the use of the virtual platform Google Meet and the link must be indicated in the document “SUBMISSION OF DISSERTATION FOR DEFENSE” scheduled by the advisor, from your institutional email; the advisor will be responsible for sending the link to the defense participants; it is recommended to schedule a test prior to the defense date to verify that everyone is connecting without problems;
  • The invitation with the link must also be sent to the PGECM Coordination email, which will be included in the program's events calendar on its virtual page, in order to ensure that it is being held publicly, so that those who wish to do so can access and watch;
  • We recommend that the dissertation defense request be submitted 30 (thirty) days before the scheduled defense date and sent, including all documentation, to the e-mails (dippg.secretaria@ifce.edu.br and pgecm@ifce.edu.br). It is important to emphasize that members of the committee who are not registered with IFCE's SEI must register as an external user in order to sign the minutes.
